Anti-Harassment Committees – A Major Step for Student Safety

On March 14, 2024, The Startup IO obtained official approval from the District Administration to establish Anti-Harassment Committees in educational institutions, ensuring a safer environment for teenage girls.

Following this approval, the initiative expanded to seven districts across Bangladesh. More than 70 educational institutions successfully formed Anti-Harassment Committees, which actively operate through a reporting and analysis system. This system continuously benefits students by addressing harassment-related concerns.

Through this initiative, over 1,100 cases were resolved efficiently without requiring direct intervention from the organization’s central committee. This proves the effectiveness of the initiative in empowering schools to handle such issues independently.
